Beaches can be unforgiving places to drive.
Quick action is normally the best option instead of trying for hours to free yourself and then having your vehicle overcome with sea water.
We carry out several beach vehicle rescues each year. (At the moment we have a 100% success rate with these) It really depends on how early you call us and if the tide is on the way in.
We do our best to keep the price reasonable but please consider that we normally have to rush to a beach location, assess the risk for vehicles and people, sometimes put tens of thousands of dollars of our own equipment at risk and perform the rescue.
Our charge will reflect the time, equipment and effort we need to take to perform a rescue. (NO RESCUE , NO CHARGE)
VERY FEW TOWING COMPANIES ARE EQUIPPED OR WILLING TO CARRY OUT BEACH RESCUES
CALL 0800 200 227 (DIRECT TO OUR MOBILE PHONE) AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, IF YOU NEED THIS SERVICE.
IF YOU WANT US TO PROVIDE THIS SERVICE THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS APPLY.
MINIMUM CALL OUT FEE OF $50.00 (IF YOU GET YOUR VEHICLE UNSTUCK/RECOVERED BEFORE WE ARRIVE WE ARE STILL PAID A MINIMUM $50.00 CALL OUT FEE) THIS IS DUE TO US BEING CALLED AWAY FROM OTHER WORK TO RESCUE YOU AND SOME KIND PERSON IN THE MEAN TIME HELPS YOU OUT, WE LOOSE MONEY BY NOT ATTENDING OTHER PAYING CALL OUTS!
IF YOU ARE IN THE MILITARY ZONE (BOMBING RANGE) AT THE END OF THE BEACH WE WILL NOT RESCUE YOU UNLESS THE POLICE REQUEST US TO!
YOU GET PERMISSION IN WRITING FROM THE NEW ZEALAND DEFENSE FORCE.
It is not legal to travel/enter the bombing range or the approximately last 5 klm of the beach all the way down to the low tide mark.
